NASA Lucy Student Pipeline Accelerator and Competency Enabler (L'SPACE) Program

When I was doing NCAS, my team members told me about the L'SPACE program. I decided to sign up and it really helped me prepare for working in the Space Industry.

Here is the description of what I did with the L'SPACE Program during both of the programs it has:
  • NASA L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy (MCA): Receive mission development skills training each week from NASA scientists and engineers and collaborate with other students to design a mission-related team project. MCA took place from May 14 to August 27, 2024
  • MCA Certificate
  • NASA L'SPACE NASA Proposal Writing & Evaluation Experience Academy (NPWEE): Learn to effectively write a concept proposal that turns innovative ideas into reality. Gain experience in the process of writing, reviewing, and scoring proposals through the lens of a NASA reviewer. NPWEE took place from September 12 to December 16, 2024

NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS)

When I transferred to Collin College, I learned about the NCAS program, which is designed for community college students. I wanted to take advantage of this program since I took part in HAS, it felt like a continuation and I wanted to take part in this program to continue to grow my knowledge and continue my journey in the Space Industry.

Here is the description of what I did with the NCAS Program during all of the 3 missions it has:
  • Mission 1: Discover occurs July 26 - August 30, 2023 online. The course includes 5 weekly modules containing readings, videos, short assignments, a NASA subject matter expert (SME) speaker series, and a Final Infographic Assignment. The NCAS team assists with course delivery, office hours, and evaluation of submitted student work.
  • Mission 2: Explore has 2 educational simulation experiences. I was assigned the career simulation which is 1 week long from October 30th - November 3rd. The career simulation situates students to take on mock roles as NASA employees to gain exposure to workplace structure and culture. This simulation highlights the personal responsibilities and team dynamics needed to accomplish a huge goal such as a lunar surface exploration mission.
  • Mission 2 Certificate
  • Mission 3: Innovate is a Capstone Project that has 2 parts, 2 weeks of virtual from January 11-26, 2024 and 1 week onsite at NASA Langley Research Center from January 29 - February 2, 2024. I participated in a capstone problem based on current challenges faced by NASA mission directorates. I developed possible solutions to the capstone problem and report them to a panel of NASA guests.

Embry-Riddle Future Space Explorers and Developers Society (ERFSEDS)

My time at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I joined the school's ERFSEDS club (September 2021 - May 2022). During my time with the Rocket club, I learned so much about designing a rocket, building a rocket, wiring a the avionics for a rocket. I was a team member for Project Cerberus and Project Kleos.

Here is the description of what I did with the ERFSEDS clubs:
  • I planned and designed an avionic bay for a model rocket
  • I planned and created a 5-pound ballast for a nose cone for a model rocket to stabilize the rocket during lift-off

NASA High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS)

During my junior year of high school, I learned about a NASA program for junior High School students in Texas. Since it has been a dream to work for the Space Industry, the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) program was a great start for me!

Here is the description of what I did during the HAS program which has 2 parts:
  • A 4-month online course about Aerospace and NASA technology (October 30, 2019 - February 26, 2020)
  • A 1-week virtual program developing a Rover (July 27 - July 31, 2020)

Architecture, Construction, & Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program

During my junior year of high school, I decided to take part of the ACE Mentor Program (October 2019 - February 2020) to explore more about the Architecture and Construction field as Electrical Engineering is a big part of those fields and was a backup major for me!

Here is the description of what I did during the ACE Program:
  • Received guidance from mentors within the architectural and construction field
  • Developed architectural and construction skills
